Five things you didn't know about me

February 10, 2007

Mark, a good friend, passed the 'five things button' to me. So, I guess, I have to disclose 5 weird facts about me:

  1. I wrote my first computer program without actually having a computer. It was an adventure game called "Into the Lair" (or something like that, I don't remember exactly) for Spectrum ZX 48. I wrote it on a piece of paper and actually typed the code while visiting a friend (the lucky bastard was a happy owner of this legendary micro).

  2. The most innovative hack I 've seen is the implementation of Sync Scrolling (aka Hardware Scrolling) on the Atari ST as introduced by legendary coder Nick of Carebears. Nick was able to emulate the missing Video Memory Low Byte by playing with scan-line lenghts in the top border. After all these years I still find this technique amazing.

  3. I can be a very difficult person, one can get me angry very easily. However, I also tend to calm down quickly.

  4. I often wake up 5 minutes (or so) before the time I actually intend to wake up. It's like having an internal alarm clock, hardwired to my brain.

  5. I never understood why 'men prefer blondes'. I always found dark haired women sexier.

I guess, I have to pass the button to more people. Well, I would like to learn more about Stefanos and Kostas.
